CCRI’s 18 hits too much for MCC

WEST WARWICK, RI – (March 25, 2009) CC of Rhode Island had 18 hits, including a three-run home run in a 10-2 win over Manchester Community College in West Warwick, RI Wednesday afternoon.

The Cougars (4-3) were playing their first road game of the season after six consecutive at home.

Kyle Borden had a two-run double in the fourth inning and Corey McDonald hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning to put the Knights up 9-2. Winning pitcher A. J. Rataic had four 1-2-3 innings and four strikeouts over six innings for CCRI (5-4).

Herb Coggeshall (Coventry) had an RBI single for MCC in the seventh inning, scoring Kevin Wodatch (Wallingford) with the Cougars’ second run. The first Cougar run scored on a CCRI error in the fourth.
