Funding from the Damato bequest has been used to support retention grants to help continuing students remain in school, scholarships, lab and related fees, developmental courses and supplemental flexible funding as needed, as well as campus upgrades and program equipment. MCC Foundation’s holdings now exceed $11 million.

Damato Bequest Provides Nearly $70,000 in Grants to Help MCC Students Stay in School
The retention grant program is a new need-based scholarship that offers funding for eligible continuing students to cover a semester’s initial tuition and fee bill. Of the students awarded a retention grant, more than 60 percent were able to earn their degrees and/or return for the following term.
Employers Encouraged to Participate in MCC’s 30th Annual Regional Job Fair, April 6
The event happens April 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the college’s main campus in the Great Path Academy gymnasium and is co-sponsored by MCC Foundation, the Connecticut Department of Labor and the Journal Inquirer.
MCC’s Annual “Big Draw” Community Arts Event Invites Public to Scribble on College Walls
Manchester Community College will hold its annual “Big Draw” community arts event on Thursday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the SBM Charitable Foundation building, outside the Visual Fine Arts studios in the D-E hallway. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in West Lot.
Scholarships to MCC Now Available for Graduating High-School Seniors
The High School Graduate Scholarship is made possible through the MCC Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the mission and purpose of Manchester Community College. The deadline for applying for a fall award is June 15.

MCC Announces 2018 Excellence in Service and Teaching Awards
These MCC awards annually recognize and honor employees who demonstrate excellence as judged by their peers. The awards are presented to recipients by MCC President Gena Glickman.
MCC Music Studies Program to Host Vocal Master Class with Janelle Robinson
MCC students will perform and receive coaching from award-winning actress and singer Janelle Robinson on Tuesday, February 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium. MCC staff, faculty and students, along with the public, are invited to attend and listen. High school classes are welcome and encouraged to attend. The event is free.
Dehn Gallery Presents “222” – Artwork by MCC Visual Fine Arts Faculty, Alumni and Students
An opening reception for the exhibition will be held Friday, February 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. The curators and the artists will be available to talk about their work. The show runs through March 30.
