Registration Open for Winter Intersession Classes

Registration is open for Manchester Community College’s winter 2019-20 intersession. Applications are being accepted for new students who want to enroll during this session, which runs December 26, 2019 through January 13, 2020.

MCC Volunteers Prep for Empty Bowls Project

Manchester Community College volunteers took in hundreds of donated hand-crafted bowls this week. The event benefits Foodshare, the regional food bank serving Hartford and Tolland counties, where 1 in 9 people struggle with hunger, including 33,000 children.

MCC Hosts Panel of Experts to Discuss Global Migration at 25th Global Issues Conference

The panel comprises Valeria Gomez, J.D., a William R. Davis clinical teaching fellow in the Asylum and Human Rights Clinic, University of Connecticut; Prakash Kashwan, Ph.D., associate professor, department of political science, and co-director, Economic and Social Rights Research Group, Human Rights Institute, University of Connecticut; William Kneerim, director of employment and education, Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services; Luz Londono Diaz, Ph.D., assistant professor of economics, MCC; and Katia Alvarenga, MCC student.

MCC to Host Empty Bowls Project Benefitting Foodshare on October 19

Also on October 19, MCC will host the 25th Global Issues Conference, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The topic is “Global Migration” and features a panel of experts on policies and their implications. That event is free and open to the public. Come for the conference and stay for the soup.
