Tiffany Young, of Vernon, has been named to the position of Minority Fellow at Manchester Community College for the 2009-2010 academic year.

MCC has developed Substitute Teacher Express Preparation (STEP), a training program that provides extensive information and resources for aspiring substitute teachers.

The first week at MCC saw record-breaking fall enrollment, with an all-time high of 7,338 students, as of August 31, an increase of ten percent compared to Fall 2008.

MCC student Tommy Garcia, of Oakdale, received a $1,000 scholarship as a recipient of the 2009 Phi Theta Kappa Leaders of Promise Scholarship program.

Starting this fall, Eastern’s School of Continuing Education will offer courses on a “Fast Track” to a Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree on the MCC campus.
