MCC Alumni Association Calls for 2021 Alumnus of the Year Award Nominations
The Manchester Community College Alumni Association is calling for 2021 Alumnus of the Year nominations. The deadline to nominate a distinguished alumnus or alumna of the college for this award is September 14.
Scholarship Funds Available for Fall
Manchester Community College Foundation is offering tuition assistance scholarships for the fall semester to new and continuing students who demonstrate financial need. International students may also be eligible. The application deadline is Sept 13.
MCC Foundation Names New Board Officers
Peter Grose was elected MCC Foundation president; Yvonne Martin, vice president; Michael B. Lynch Jr., treasurer; and Bethany Silver ’90, secretary.
MCC Foundation Receives $40,000 Grant from Paul L. Jones Trust to Support Health Careers Programs
The grant, to be managed by MCC Foundation, supports activities within the Health Careers programs such as background checks and CPR training, national credentialing reviews and study guides, licensure exams and even support for student attendance at professional conferences. The Paul L. Jones Trust was established in 1979 to assist higher-education institutions in Connecticut with students interested in medical and health-related fields.

Manchester Community College staff will help students enroll for the Fall 2021 semester on Saturday, August 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Buteau, of Newington, holds a drug and alcohol recovery counselor (DARC) associate in science degree from MCC.
Student Success – Two Students from MCC Land Summer Internships at Yale
Since 2014 Yale’s ITS Summer College Internship has offered paid, full-time, 10- to 12-week positions working side-by-side with IT professionals on projects matched with a student’s skills and interests. The assignments offer hands-on experience, exposure to a collaborative culture and opportunities to sharpen problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
MCC Holding Free Disabilities Specialist Program Information Session July 20
The session will be conducted via Webex and will provide an opportunity to learn more about the Disability Specialist associate degree and certificate, as well as the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant associate degree.
MCC Holding Free Advanced Manufacturing Information Session, New Cohort to Start August 26
Manchester Community College will hold a free information session Tuesday, July 13, from 4 to 5 p.m., in room AST C145. The session will provide students with an opportunity to ask questions and get answers about the college’s precision manufacturing certificate program. COVID-19 protocols apply to all on-campus activities.
