Business Office Technology and Information Management Technology Degrees and Certificates Boost Workforce Success
MANCHESTER, Conn. (August 1, 2019) – In today’s workforce, professional acumen and hands-on experience may not be enough to succeed in many jobs. A knowledge of the continuously evolving technologies that drive work environments is vital as well. MCC has programs to help keep pace.
The college’s Business Office Technology and Information Management Technology programs comprise a blend of technology, traditional business, and liberal arts and science courses covering business processes, the role information technology plays in supporting and advancing organizational goals and strategies, and how to collect, organize and present information effectively. The college’s state-of-the-art Technology Suite of classrooms simulates the way office work gets done in today’s workplaces
The department offers degree options that will enhance credentials in a broad range of positions: Management Information Systems, A.S.; Medical Option, Business Office Technology, A.S.; Office Option, Business Office Technology, A.S.
Certificates include Business Office Technology – Medical Insurance Specialist, Business Office Technology – Office Support Specialist, Electronic Health Records Specialist, Social Media Specialist and Web Technology.
In recent semesters, students have been placed in internships at employers such as Coventry Public Schools, iSmile Family Dentistry, Prime Health Care, Foley Carrier Services, Manchester Memorial Hospital-Rehabilitation Department, Odyssey Community School, and others. Several of these students were offered permanent employment after the completion of their internships.
Enrollment for the Fall 2019 semester is currently open. MCC is taking applications for new and transferring students, with no application fee. Classes begin August 27.
