Barry Kelly to Receive Honorary Associate Degree

MANCHESTER, Conn. (May 22, 2017) – Manchester Community College will present Barry Kelly, a resident of Amston, Conn., and president and CEO of Kelser Corporation, with an associate degree in humane letters honoris causa at the college’s 53rd Commencement Ceremony Thursday, May 25, 2017.

For more than 35 years, Kelly’s Glastonbury-based technology consulting company, Kelser Corporation, has helped businesses in the region achieve their goals through technology. Kelly was a founding member of Kelser in 1981, and in 2010 he became president and CEO. In 2011, he founded the Kelser Foundation, which to date has contributed nearly $1 million in funds in addition to food, clothing, time and other goods to worthy causes.

Manchester Community College is fortunate to have been supported by Kelly and Kelser in many different ways over the years. Most recently, the Kelser Foundation made a four-year commitment to fund a networking computer lab at MCC to foster a high level of expertise in this growing field. In addition, the Kelser Foundation has provided financial funding for academic programs in technology through its signature fundraising event, Evening of Fine Wines, and Kelser Corporation staff members have provided support for a number of MCC Foundation events and initiatives, recently donating more than 300 pounds of food to MCC’s newly established student food pantry.

Kelser also supports organizations such as the American Lung Association, Alzheimer’s Association of CT, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and more. Kelly serves on the Evening of Fine Wines Corporate Committee, the American Lung Association, and is a member of the Irish American Home Society.
