MCC Named Number 1 Community College in Connecticut; Seventh Among the Top 19 Colleges and Universities
MANCHESTER, Conn. (October 28, 2019) – A recently published list by the online resource EDsmart ranked Manchester Community College the number 1 community college in the state, and number 7 among the Top 19 Connecticut-based colleges and universities. MCC’s rankings came with a score of 97.2 out of 100.
EDsmart assesses colleges in Connecticut based on data that covers four main areas: cost (average net price), academic quality (graduation rate), student satisfaction (retention rate) and salary after attending (the median earnings of former students who received federal financial aid, at 10 years after entering the school). All data was gathered from the U.S. Dept. of Education websites – College Scorecard and College Navigator.
The EDsmart ranking aims to help students assess the affordability and value of top colleges in Connecticut so they can make informed decisions about which college to attend.
MCC was most significantly recognized for its flexibility in offering students a variety of ways to pursue their educational goals. “Classes at this college are held days, evenings, weekends and online for your convenience to earn an education when you are able to,” EDsmart wrote. “Manchester Community College aims to provide a great education to students to be able to enter into a growing career field or transfer to earn their bachelor’s degree at a university. This community college recognizes that students need flexibility in their schedule to earn their education.”
