MCC Students May Be Able to Use Federal Pell Grants for Summer Tuition
MANCHESTER, Conn. (June 8, 2018) — Manchester Community College students who register for 6 or more credits this summer session may be eligible to use federal Pell Grant funding to help pay their tuition. MCC has three upcoming summer sessions: a six-week day/evening session starting June 18 and a six-week day/evening session starting July 2; there is an intensive three-week session starting July 2, as well.
To determine whether a student qualifies for a Pell Grant applicable to summer tuition, it is necessary to have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The form is available at https://fafsa.ed.gov.
Courses are also available for students from different institutions looking to accelerate their studies and transfer back credits to their home institution. Students looking to do this must check to make sure the credit(s) are transferable back to their institution, as there are no refunds past the allowable drop period whether the course is transferable or not.
Students who have not taken a credited course at MCC or any of the Connecticut community colleges must pay a non-refundable $20 application fee and fill out an MCC application for admission.
