MCC Offers Opportunities for Studies in Music with Credit-Free Programs
Manchester, Conn. (September 22, 2015) –Manchester Community College Credit-Free programs offers the opportunity for students to explore interests in music. The program includes instrument and vocal instruction, as well as a how to course in music recording, publishing, marketing and publicity.
Beginners can choose from a variety of instruments for instruction this fall. Beginning Guitar will be held Wednesday, September 30 and continue for eight Wednesday sessions from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Reference CRN 31960 for registration. Introduction to Saxophone will begin on Monday, October 5 and continue for eight Monday sessions from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Reference CRN 32031 to register.
Students who would like to explore their vocal talents can begin Monday, October 26, with Vocal Instruction , which continues for six Monday sessions from 7 to 8:15 p.m. The course concludes with a vocal evaluation from the instructor with suggestions for improvement. The course is open to students ages twelve and up. Reference CRN 31961 to register.
The course Music Recording, Publishing, Marketing and Publicity will be offered Saturday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to noon. Students will learn about free tools available online, how to create an album cover, sound quality and tips for reaching an audience. Reference CRN 31892 to register.
For beginning piano students ready to move up to the next level, an Intermediate Piano course will be offered Saturday, October 31 and continue for four Saturday sessions from 10 a.m. to noon. Reference CRN 32001. Students who have completed a beginning or continuing guitar class will be interested in the course, The Magic of Fingerstyle Guitar. The course begins Monday, October 15 and continues for six Monday sessions from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Students interested in any genre of music can benefit from this flexible and creative technique, allowing a student to perform at a higher level.
