Dr. Robert and Joyce Fish Announced as Presenting Sponsors of MCC Evening of Fine Wines, May 1, 2015
Manchester Community College Foundation is pleased to announce Dr. Robert and Joyce Fish as the presenting sponsors of the twenty-third annual Evening of Fine Wines, to be held on May 1, 2015.
Glastonbury residents Dr. and Mrs. Fish are natives of Connecticut. Dr. Fish recently retired as founding partner of Connecticut Family Dentistry in Manchester after 41 years and is president of the Manchester Dental Society. He also serves on the peer review committee through the Connecticut State Dental Association. He was a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Computerized Dentistry and many study clubs.
“Evening of Fine Wines is a party with a purpose, and the purpose is to raise money for scholarships, college programs and student life and support services,” Dr. Fish said. “As strong believers in the value of an education, we are proud to serve as this year’s presenting sponsors.”
This annual gala combines a wine tasting with live and silent auctions of wine and other great items to raise funds for scholarships and programs at the college. Contributions directly benefit hundreds of students who need financial assistance to pursue and reach their educational goals.
Tickets for this year’s event are on sale for $85 per person. Order online or, for information, go to mccgiving.org; contact Kisha Zullo, event coordinator, at wines@manchestercc.edu; or call 860-512-2922.
Less than half of the college’s budget is supported through public funding, making support from MCC Foundation donors crucial. “By participating in this evening, you truly make a difference in the lives of deserving students,” Dr. Fish added.
Dr. Fish holds a D.M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. He received a bachelor of science degree from the College of Wooster in Ohio, and after dental school served in the U.S. Navy as a dentist prior to settling in Manchester. Starting this May, he will begin a new practice solely devoted to the treatment of sleep apnea by fabricating dental appliances that replace or augment CPAP machines.
Mrs. Fish ’81, is an MCC alumna and a native of Manchester, where she attended and graduated local public schools. She had a long career in the insurance industry in sales and as a property and casualty underwriter and she continued her education and earned many academic credentials and designations throughout her career.
