MCC Farmers Market Opens for Another Growing Season

Manchester, CT – (July 9, 2013)… The MCC Farmers Market celebrates its seventh season in operation and reaffirms its commitment to local farmers, growers, vendors and gardeners with programs that provide important connections for those who live in our surrounding communities. The MCC Farmers Market is located on the campus of Manchester Community College at the Bicentennial Band Shell and is open every Wednesday until October from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Farmers’ Market this year will feature farmers and vendors providing local, farm fresh vegetables and produce; fruits herbs, baked goods (w/gluten free options), dairy products, maple syrup and more. Plus items such as handmade and artisan crafted jewelry, dried florals, soaps and lotions.

The Outdoor Café will have fresh salads and pizza slices made with local, farm fresh ingredients. Music-at-the-Market will feature live music every week.

Other events at the market will include; yoga and relaxation sessions; health and wellness awareness and information packets; and healthy food preparation and recipe demos.

There is plenty of free parking.

Students of any age who possess the desire to pursue higher education are welcome at Manchester Community College. MCC is proud of its academic excellence, new facilities, flexible schedules, small classes, low tuition and faculty with both academic and “real world” credentials. The college offers over 60 programs, transfer options, financial aid and scholarships, as well as access to baccalaureate degrees through guaranteed admissions programs with several universities. The main, park-like campus, which is easily accessible from I-84, is also the home of Great Path Academy, a middle college high school, serving grades 9-12. The college’s second location, the Manchester Community College Arts and Education Center, opened in downtown Manchester in 2012.
