MCC Credit-Free Programs Offers Courses for Businesses
Owners and managers of local companies know business never takes a holiday. Manchester Community College is offering several cost-effective courses this month to help entrepreneurs and other business people build and strengthen their competitive edge.
Upcoming offerings include something for entrepreneurs looking for start-up ideas, to classes aimed at helping to grow an established company. There is still time to register. Classes are taught by experts in their fields. Here are just a few ideas from MCC Credit-Free instructor James Farnham, who holds an MBA from Pace University and master of science in social administration from Columbia University.
He will teach three valuable courses on Saturday, July 13, in the Great Path Academy building on the MCC campus. Farnham is a professional speaker and author and has more than 20 years’ experience in insurance and financial services.
His course, “20 Ways to Earn Residual Income” runs from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and covers more than 20 different ways to earn consistent, dependable and ongoing income from stocks, bonds, mutual funds, insurance, taxes and retirement income (refer to CRN 20802 for registration). The course fee is $25.
Farnham will also teach “How to Build a Fun and Profitable Home-Based Business” that same day, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. This course will provide students with ideas on tangible and measurable activities to build a personal business, grow a customer base, and boost income. Students will receive a list of 70 “funded to free to fee ways” to market products and services (refer to CRN 20803 for registration). The course fee is $20.
Farnham’s class, “How to Conduct a Webinar,” will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m., also on July 13. He will detail the nuts and bolts of how to carry out a cost-effective, professional webinar. The course covers the basics of technology, hardware/software combinations and other equipment, as well as how to monetize content and what to charge for a program. Students will receive a list of 38 ways to promote their webinars (refer to CRN 20804). The course fee is $15.
