William H. W. Crawford to Receive Honorary Degree

Manchester, CT – (May 22, 2013) . . . William H. W. Crawford, IV of Hartford, will be awarded the honorary degree of associate in humane letters, honoris causa at Manchester Community College’s 49th commencement ceremony, to be held Thursday, May 30, 2013.

Crawford is President and Chief Executive Officer, Rockville Financial, Inc. which is a NASDAQ listed (ticker RCKB) bank holding company headquartered in Glastonbury, Connecticut with $2B in assets and a $370M market cap. Mr. Crawford joined the company in January 2011 from Wells Fargo and Company, and he has 25 years of banking industry experience serving in various executive roles, including Regional President and Executive Vice President with responsibilities for all major business lines in various East Coast markets for Wells Fargo and predecessor banks.

Mr. Crawford received a B.A. in Economics from The College of William and Mary in Virginia and currently resides in Hartford, Connecticut, with his wife Elizabeth and two children. He is active in numerous civic and community organizations and serves as Chairman of the Rockville Bank Foundation. Together, Rockville Bank and the Rockville Bank Foundation support 420 non-profit organizations in the Greater Hartford area. Mr. Crawford has served two consecutive years as Honorary Chairman for both the Manchester Community College Foundation premier fundraiser, Evening of Fine Wines, and the Channel 3 Kids Camp premier fundraiser, Celebrity Golf Tournament.
