MCC Students Inducted into Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society

Manchester, CT – (October 5, 2012) . . . Phi Theta Kappa, the oldest and largest international honor society serving two-year colleges, inducted 10 students from Manchester Community College as members during summer.

Students who have established a GPA of 3.75 or above and have earned 12 credit hours at MCC are extended an invitation to join Phi Theta Kappa. Phi Theta Kappa is the only internationally acclaimed honor society for colleges offering associate degree programs.

The Manchester Community College students are:
Kara Davis of Manchester, Laura Dwyer of Wethersfield, Joyce Forman of Middletown, David Freitag of Vernon, Alyssa Maldonado of Colchester, Zacharie Maloney of West Hartford, Courtney McMahon of Rocky Hill, Maiko Musall of Glastonbury, Judy Nai-Haydash of Manchester and Stephanie Rondeau of Manchester.

Membership in Phi Theta Kappa offers students opportunities for leadership, fellowship, scholarship, and community services, as well as providing an intellectual climate for continued academic excellence.

Phi Theta Kappa has recognized academic excellence in the two-year college since 1918. Membership is based primarily upon academic achievement. Invitation to membership may be extended only by the local chapter at the institution in which the student is enrolled.

Students of any age who possess the desire to pursue higher education are welcome at Manchester Community College.
