Fore! Cougar Classic Golf Tournament Supports Student Life and Programs at MCC

Manchester, CT – (August 15, 2012) …The Manchester Community College Foundation’s 2nd Annual Cougar Classic will be held on Wednesday, September 26 at Manchester Country Club. Funds raised will be used to support student life and co-curricular activities at MCC.

A day of golfing can make a difference in the community and in the lives of the students at MCC. Last year, the Cougar Classic golf tournament raised $15,000.

The tournament supports student life and programs, which play an important role in student development by building leadership and interpersonal skills, teaching life lessons and bridging to four-year institutions. This type of programming is an integral component of the successful college experience.

“Community members, alumni, students, parents, board members, corporations, and other friends of MCC are invited to tee up for 18 holes of golf, lunch, dinner and awards – all for a great cause. There are many ways to become involved in this event, from sponsorship opportunities to contributing raffle prizes and participating in the tournament. Your support allows us to continue providing quality programming to the many students we serve,” stated G. Duncan Harris, Dean of Student Affairs.

Registration: $150 per golfer. Scramble format registration at 11:00 AM, lunch at 11:30 AM with shotgun start at 12:30 PM. Practice range available for participants.

For more information or to sponsor the event, contact Cynthia Washburne, Director of Student Life, at cwashburne@manchestercc.edu or 860-512-3353.
