Precision Machining Program Graduation
Manchester, CT ( November 9, 2011)… Manchester Community College graduated a class of 12 students from the Precision Machining Certificate program on November 9. This program is a comprehensive training program designed for men and women who want to learn the technical skills needed to succeed in the field of manufacturing technology.

This training program is designed with input from local manufacturers and is regularly updated to include advances in technology. In addition to gaining theoretical knowledge, students benefit from hands-on-experience in bench work, quality assurance and the operation of lathes, milling machines and surface grinders. In addition to learning how to operate conventional machinery, students are also introduced to CNC operation. The Precision Machining certificate program is a 600 hour program with both classroom and lab experience. Most of the graduates are already employed in the field of manufacturing technology. Graduate Ryan Jojin said of the program, ”CNC Programming and CNC Machining are the only industries that can give you at least as much as you put into them. Without an education, it’s impossible to get the right opportunities.” Samuel Springer, also a graduate of the program, said ”I learned a lot and was able to get a lot of new skills under my belt during these eight months.
