The MCC Women’s Soccer Team Shut Out by Massasoit

The MCC Women’s soccer team played well in a steady rain, but fell to a very strong Massasoit CC team 4-0 Saturday afternoon in Manchester.

Massasoit (2-1) took 21 shots on goal to Manchester’s eight and took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

MCC goalkeeper Michelle Kerr (Rockville) was busy the entire game and was called on to make 15 saves.

Massasoit’s first goal came on a penalty kick midway through the first half.

Captain Lindsay Estok (Middletown), along with Ilyssa Riley and Brittany Kaplan, both of Enfield, played strong for the Cougars who had just one healthy player available on the bench.

MCC (2-2) hosts Holyoke on Tuesday at 4 PM then travels to Springfield Tech on Thursday before returning home for a noon game against Bunker Hill on Saturday.
