MCC Offers Job Search Workshops in Response to Economic Hardship

Manchester, Conn., – (February 2, 2009)… In response to current economic challenges and the increase in unemployment, Manchester Community College is offering a series of free job search workshops.

“The job market is becoming very competitive and job seekers can enhance their potential for success by sharpening their self-marketing and job search skills,” stated Carl Ochnio, director of Career Services. The job search series will run during the month of February and sessions are focused on helping individuals gain employment. The workshops include: Effective Resume Writing, Interviewing Skills, and Job Search Strategies & Cover Letter Writing.

The Effective Resume Writing workshop will provide information on the skills and strategies needed in developing a competitive resume. The Interviewing Skills workshop will cover the various stages of the interviewing process and job seekers will gain insight into the most frequently asked interview questions and other tips that can help lead to a successful interview. The Job Search Strategies & Cover Letter Writing workshop will help individuals identify techniques in conducting a comprehensive job search.
