Business&TechFest.2006
Manchester Community College’s Center for Business and Technologies presents Business&TechFest. 2006, a week-long event designed to give the community and students an insight on the latest business strategies and technology from today’s industry leaders.
Business&TechFest. 2006 will feature dynamic speakers in the field of business and technology, and provide a variety of interactive activities, workshop and exhibits. One popular exhibit, “Ask Me TechBench,” will give owners of any technology gadgets the opportunities to talk to industry technicians to enhance or troubleshoot everything from cell phones to computers for free! A series of workshops on entrepreneurial activities, business etiquette and the latest on-line techniques will also be offered, including tips and tricks to downloading on iTUNES, and smart job searching tactics.
Business&TechFest. 2006 will be held April 17 through April 20.
Monday, April 17
• The Lego Logic Gates table and various engineering projects will be on display in the Lowe Building Lobby from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Ask Me TechBench and information tables on degrees and certificate programs will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Lowe Building.
• Magic Illusionist David Garrity will present a magic show entitled, “The Magic of Technology,” at 12 noon in the Lowe Building Lobby.
• iNSIDE iTUNES workshop- “Music Downloading Tips & Tricks and a demo of Google & Beyond” will be presented in the LRC A142 beginning at 12 noon. Space is limited, come early.
• Joseph McGuire President & CEO of Tweeter Home Entertainment Group will lecture at 2:00 p.m. in the Library Fireside Commons, LRC.
Tuesday, April 18
• The “Online Job Search: Tips & Tricks,” workshop will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in LRC A142. To sign up please contact Julie Greene at 512-3372.

• Dr. Karen Wosczyna-Birch, State Director of Connecticut’s College of Technology, will discuss “College of Technology Opportunities,” at 12:30 p.m. in the Library Fireside Commons.
Wednesday, April 19

• The Lego Logic Gates table and various engineering projects will be on display in the AST Rotunda from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Sandra Sears, Program Director for Hartford Technology Services Company, will deliver a lecture on the topic “Found in Translation-An American Doing Business in Japan,” at 12:30 p.m. in the Library Fireside Commons, LRC.
• A movie screening of Office Space, a comedic tale of company workers who hate their jobs and decide to rebel against their greedy boss, will be shown in the SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium at 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, April 20
• The Lego Logic Gates table and various engineering projects will be on display in the AST Rotunda from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Karen Wolf of the New England School of Protocol, will deliver a lecture on the topic “Good Manners Make Dollars & Sense”,” on at 12:00 noon. This lecture includes lunch and will be held in the Cheney Dining Room, Lowe Building. Registration is required. General admission is $8.00, students $5.00.
