New PR Associate Joins Manchester Community College

Manchester, CT – November 21, 2005 . . . Manchester Community College is pleased to announce the following addition to its staff:

Endia DeCordova-Murphy, of Harford, has joined MCC as its new Public Relations Associate in the Institutional Development Division.

The Institutional Development Division oversees the fundraising, alumni affairs and marketing arms of the College. As Public Relations Associate, Ms. De-Cordova-Murphy will be responsible for developing and implementing college public relations programs and activities, including developing strong media relationships; working closely with the President and senior administration on promoting the college and its programs; and producing press releases, story ideas, articles, newsletters, and web content.

Prior to joining MCC, Ms. DeCordova-Murphy was the Director of Public Relations and Marketing Communications for the Salvation Army, Southern New England Division, headquartered in Hartford. Previously, she worked as a Senior Technical Recruiter for Allegis Group, a technical recruiting firm.

She is active in the local community, serving on the Board of Directors of WVIT NBC 30‘s “Black Perspective” public affairs program, the Connecticut Valley Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Cultural Dance Troupe of the West Indies. She also served as the Public Relations Coordinator for the West Indian Social Club of Hartford.

A graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore with a bachelor of science degree in Communications/Public Relations, she is pursing a master of business administration degree in Marketing from the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business.
