Public Comment Invited as Part of MCC 2022 Reaccreditation Process

MANCHESTER, Conn.  (March 8, 2022) – The public is invited to comment on the 2022 institutional self-study prepared by Manchester Community College as part of its reaccreditation process. Every 10 years, accredited institutions must undergo a self-study to demonstrate that they meet standards established by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).

MCC will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit from April 10 through April 13 by a team representing NECHE, formerly the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). As part of the process, the public may review the self-study document and submit comments about the institution in writing to the accreditation team. Comments must be received by Wednesday, April 13.

To review the institutional self-study document and for information on how to prepare written comments, visit www.manchestercc.edu/neche.

The team will recommend a continuing status for the institution to NECHE. Following a review process, NECHE will take the final action.

NECHE, which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, accredits approximately 220 institutions in the six-state New England region as well as several American-style institutions overseas. MCC has been accredited by the commission since 1971 and was last reviewed in 2012.
