MCC and the Connecticut Poetry Circuit Sponsor Ada Limón, October 26 in WebEx Event

MANCHESTER, Conn. (September 20, 2021) – Manchester Community College, home of the Connecticut Poetry Circuit, is joining with the Circuit to sponsor author and poet Ada Limón Tuesday, October 26, from 7 to 8 p.m. Limón will read from her work live via WebEx.

Limón is the author of the poetry collections: The Carrying (2018), which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry; Bright Dead Things (2015), a finalist for the National Book Award and the National Books Critics Circle Award; Sharks in the Rivers (2010); Lucky Wreck (2006); and This Big Fake World (2006). She holds an MFA from New York University and is the recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the New York Foundation for the Arts, the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center and the Kentucky Foundation for Women. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including The New Yorker, Harvard Review, Pleiades and Barrow Street.

She serves on the faculty of Queens University of Charlotte Low Residency MFA program. Limón lives in Lexington, Kentucky.

About the Connecticut Poetry Circuit

The Connecticut Poetry Circuit was established in 1968 to continue the work of the New England Poetry Circuit, which was founded in 1964 by the Academy of American Poets and Holly Stevens, daughter of the acclaimed poet and Hartford insurance executive Wallace Stevens. The work of the Circuit is guided by a panel of poets: Randall Horton, Vivian Shipley, Clare Rossini, John Stanizzi and Kate Rushin. The Circuit is directed by James Gentile, an English professor at Manchester Community College, the Circuit’s current home.
