MCC to Offer Free Information Session for Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
MANCHESTER, Conn. (September 16, 2021) – Manchester Community College will offer a free information session on Wednesday, September 29, from 4 to 5 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room B125 for individuals interested in the college’s Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant program is designed for students with an interest in working with individuals who are limited in what they can do because of a physical, emotional or developmental disability, illness or the aging process. The goal of occupational therapy is to help people of any age – from newborns to the elderly – live their lives to the fullest – at home, at work or at school – by making it possible for them to perform life’s everyday activities.
The program combines coursework with a four-month supervised clinical experience that focuses on the psycho-social, physical and developmental aspects of practicing occupational therapy.
Preregistration for the information session is recommended. For the link and more info on the program, visit the website.
Attending an information session is the first step in the admission process. To be admitted to the program, a separate application from the college application must be completed by February 1, 2022. During the information session, the program coordinator will provide details about the program and answer questions.
