Breault Elected to Serve on MCC Foundation Board

MANCHESTER, Conn. (November 4, 2020) – Members of Manchester Community College’s College Senate elected GEAR UP Coordinator Benjamin Breault to serve as the administrative staff representative to MCC Foundation’s board of directors.

MCC Foundation board comprises individuals from the communities served by the college, as well as representatives from the faculty, administrative staff and students.

“We welcome Ben to the board,” said MCC Foundation President Rosemarie Papa. “We look forward to working with him to support our programs and students at the college.”

Breault, a resident of Columbia, holds a bachelor’s degree from Goddard College, a master’s degree in English from Trinity College and is a candidate for a doctor of education degree at Wilmington University. He joined MCC as an office assistant in 2008. He also currently serves as president of the board of trustees for Montessori Discovery School in Norwich.

He said he is pleased to represent MCC on the board and contribute to the work of MCC Foundation. “As is well known, the cost of attendance for college continues to rise and too many barriers block the path of students pursuing higher education,” he said.

He added, “MCC Foundation seeks to remove barriers by supporting both students and faculty in harnessing and mobilizing resources that can literally change lives.  I have seen the power of this support first-hand in my work in enrollment services and financial aid. Now I have the honor of furthering this work as a member of the board.”
